- The episode begins back at the wagon with Allura’s new pet wolf Gumdrop
- The party attaches ropes to the wagon and proceed to pull it along the road toward Phandalin

Barthen’s Provisions

- Sir Grayson purchases a component pouch and successfully haggles the price down to 15 gold from 25 gold
- Asked about lodgings and directed to Stonehill Inn
- Elmar Barthen the proprietor mentions that that Gundren is his friend and encourages the party to rescue him
- Elmar mentions that the Redbrands are hurting his business and the town
Stonehill Inn
- Met the owner Toblen Stonehill and secured two rooms for the night for 10 silver total. Allura offers to share a room with Aurelius who immediately declines. Sir Grayson and Elisrenoi agree to share a room and offer Allura to stay with them.
- Sildar Hallwinter takes his own room and immediately goes to rest after his long ordeal
- Inn was crowded, only table available was occupied by a shady looking figure in a hood
- Joined table and met Roland, a human rogue who had heard about Gundren’s possible fortune and wanted his share of the treasure
- The party accepts Roland into their ranks and Elisrenoi buys a round of ale from the ditzy barmaid Elsa to celebrate
- Elsa mentions Daran Edermath the orchard keeper is a former adventurer
- The party asks various people about Gundrem and Cragmaw Keep
- Elisrenoi sits with a miner and buys him a drink to find out some information. When the drink arrives he immediately changes his mind and leaves the table.
- Allura keeps Gumdrop tied up outside and feeds him and pets him to assure him that he is safe
- The group eats stew and then rests for the night in their separate rooms (LONG REST)
- In the morning, Sir Grayson wakes up the group and they gather in the dining room for a breakfast of salted pork
- Sir Grayson wants to check the town for supplies so they ask around and decide to head to Lionshield Coster, a trading post nearby
Lionshield Coster
- Upon arriving at Lionshield Coster they are met by the master of the trading post Linene Graywind who Sir Grayson mistakes for a man
- The group looks over the meagre offerings of weapons and armour available for sale but nothing strikes their fancy
- Sir Grayson purchases 5 javelins to replace the few that he lost in battle yesterday
- Linene mentions that the Redbrands are ruffians and that they frequent the Sleeping Giant taphouse
- Roland mentions he wishes to visit the nearby Shrine of Luck
Shrine of Luck
- The party walks a short distance to the Shrine of Luck, a small shrine made of stones from nearby ruins that is dedicated to Tymora, goddess of luck and fortune
- Roland approaches and meets a young elf named Sister Garaele who is a scholar acolyte and cares for the shrine
- Sister Garaele mentions a banshee named Agatha and a spellbook
- Roland makes an offering of 1 silver piece and receives a blessing of luck that grants him advantage in his next battle
- Sir Grayson also makes an offering of 1 silver piece but receives no blessing in return
- The group asks Sister Garaele for directions to the nearby orchard and she tells them
- Aurelius then provides her with parchment and ink and she proceeds to sketch them a crude map of the town that points out various landmarks
- They thank the young lady and then proceed to the Townmaster’s Hall to try and find out more information about Cragmaw Keep
Townmaster’s Hall
- Outside the hall is a sign on a board offering a reward for Orcs near Wyvern Tor
- Sir Grayson attempts to uproot the board to take it with him but fails
- Sir Grayson busts into the office of the Townmaster and approaches the first person he sees demanding an audience with the Townmaster who he has heard is ugly and useless
- The Townmaster Harbin Wester is immediately upset and tells off Sir Grayson and starts to talk about putting him in one of the two jail cells
- The two start to argue before Aurelius speaks up and starts to diffuse the situation
- Aurelius asks about the sign outside and is told about a band of orcs near Wyvern Tor, which is East on the Triboar Trail, that need to be taken care of. The reward is 100 gold pieces.
- Aurelius attempts to change the bounty to be based on how many orcs they kill but Harbin replies that the reward is just a flat 100 gold
- Roland tries to pursuade Harbin to raise the bounty to 150 gold (not sure if this is the right amount) but fails
- Sir Grayson then intimidates Harbin to raise the bounty to 150 gold and is successful
- The group ask about Gundren’s whereabouts and Cragmaw Keep but get no answers and decide to find an adventurer who may have more information for them
Edermath Orchard

- They meet Daran Edermath, a retired half-elf adventurer who lives in a cottage on the orchard
- They ask about Gundren and Cragmaw keep but don’t get any answers they haven’t already heard
- Daran mentions that he is a member of the Order of the Gauntlet, a devout and vigilant group that protect others from evildoers.
- Daran says that he is concerned about the Redbrands and would like to see a group of adventurers teach them a lesson.
- He tells the party that the Redbrand’s leader is a man named Glasstaff and their main hideout lies under the abandoned Tresendar Manor on the east edge of town
- To repay the kind adventurer for his wisdom, the group buys a bunch of fresh apples from him for 3 coppers a piece
- The party decides to head back to the inn
- While heading back to the inn, the party encounters a group of four Redbrand Ruffians who threaten to rob them
- Aurelius casts Sleep and immediately puts two of the bandits to sleep
- Sir Grayson is injured in the battle but uses Lay On Hands to restore most of his health
- The other two are taken out quickly by Elisrenoi and Allura
- One of the sleeping bandits is quickly killed, but not before he is woken up to fight again
- The last bandit is restrained by Sir Grayson with the help of Aurelius and is tied up with rope
- Roland proceeds to interrogate the prisoner and punches him in the face, followed up by a slap
- Sir Grayson successfully intimidates him but the brigand refuses to give up any useful information that they didn’t already know
- Roland cuts off one of the ruffian’s thumbs and learns that Glasstaff’s chambers are in the western end of the stronghold under Tresendar Manor
- Roland slits the prisoner’s throat and blood gushes down his chest as he falls face down in the dirt
- Fearing retribution from other potential Redbrands in the city, the party doctors the crime scene to make it appear that (goblins, orcs?) were responsible for the murders of these men
- The group loots the body and finds (I can’t remember the items or gold we received)
- Each party member receives 80 xp and (x amount of currency)

- Allura uses Guiding Bolt to melt the other Stirge with radiant light showering Sir Grayson in blood and bird guts
- Sir Grayson uses Lay On Hands to heal his damage and attempts to clean his clothes
- Each party member receives (x xp) but finds no gold or items on the bodies
- After a brief rest the party pushes further into the forest when almost immediately…

- Sir Grayson approaches the Owlbear and misses his first attack
- The Owlbear retaliates and attacks Sir Grayson with his beak and then his claws for a massive 14 damage!
- Aurelius casts Firebolt and misses the Owlbear, hitting a nearby tree and setting it ablaze

- Elisrenoi joins the attacks with a longbow
- Sir Grayson uses Divine Smite again and hits the Owlbear for 36 damage!
- Allura shoots an arrow straight up into the air which lands directly in the Owlbear’s left eye, instantly killing him
